ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT WITH FILLERS*
[* The Belgian Federal Agency for medicines and health products forbids us to mention trademark names and even generic names of used products]
What IS A FILLER?
- Fillers are used to replace volume in the skin, giving instantaneous natural enhancement of wrinkles, folds and facial contours.
- Fillers are substances naturally found in the skin, and restore a youthful, fresh appearance and resilience to skin by simply adding to the natural supply.
- Fillers give an immediate improvement, so that you will look better from the moment the filler is injected.
For which areas Fillers are used?
Fillers are used to fill wrinkles and to improve contours, such as:
- filling up the nasolabial fold
- softening the marionette lines and sagging mouth corners
- improving volume of cheekbones and cheeks
- improving contours jawline
- giving volume and definition to lips. Click here for more information on lipfillers.
- chin augmentation
- non-surgical nose jobs
- it can also be used for the hands, to make a more youthful appearance by filling the volume loss and wrinkle formation on the back of the hands.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MUSCLE RELAXANT AND A FILLER?
- With both a filler and a muscle relaxant, a substance is injected under the skin ('injectables'). In both cases, the result is temporary.
- With a filler, this substance serves to fill something up e.g. the nose-lip fold, drooping corners of the mouth,... A filler can also be used to enlarge lips or perform a non-surgical (temporary) rhinoplasty.
- With a wrinkle injection, the injected substance serves to (temporarily) weaken certain muscles, e.g. to soften the frown wrinkle between the eyes, or the crow's feet,.... so not to fill anything up. Click here for further information about wrinkle injection.
Preparation treatment
- We are happy to explain how you should prepare for the treatment. Please explicitly ask for this when making your appointment.
- If you have ever had cold sores, you should take prior medication.
- Please do not have a Covid vaccine placed in the period from 1 week before the filler to 2 weeks after.
The treatment
- Depending on the area, a topical cream or local anaesthetic will be applied to help numb the area being treated.
The injection is done with a small thin needle. During treatment, you can look in the mirror and indicate whether the injected volume meets up to your expectation.
-
For some fillers, we use the Teoysal Pen, an electronically controlled injection pen, making the injection hurt even less. This allows the surgeon to focus more on the placement of the gel instead of exerting the pressure which is necessary with conventional manual syringes.
- Before and after photos will be taken.
Downtime
- You can immediately resume your normal activities.
- The treated skin can be a bit red and swollen. The swelling pulls off after a few hours or days. You may continue to cool the treated area.
- The first days after the treatment you must avoid pressure on the treated area.
- Occasionally a temporary light swelling or bruising may occur. Any bruising can however be perfectly concealed with makeup and should be protected with a sunblock.
WHAT IS PROFHILO?
- Profhilo is a temporary hyaluronic acid, it is actually in between a filler and a skin booster.
- without immediately giving too much volume, you can actually improve the skin with Profhilo.
- It is a treatment for bio-remodeling that has been scientifically proven to produce collagen and elastin.
- This ensures that the skin tightens, feels firmer and looks healthier.
- With a Profhilo treatment you achieve that your skin repairs itself. So there is no chance of unnatural results.

- filler both hands: € 850

Side-effects / complicationS
- Each injection has a risk of infection or allergic reaction. Both risks are very minimal (less than 0.1%) and have no effect on the result.
Check-up
-
We recommend patients to come back 2 - 4 months after treatment to check the extent to which the gel is dissolved and new collagen is created. The dissolution of the gel and the production of the collagen must be equal after 1-3 months.
- When the dissolution of the gel is larger than the collagen production, a refinement treatment can be done. The result will be even more durable after the refinement treatment.
FILLER WITH ACID*

- This acid* is a biodegradable product, available under different brand names on the market. It is applied for the treatment of wrinkle and groove formation due to aging or to fill up lips.
This acid is 100% safe because it is completely biodegradable and anti-allergic.
- How long will the effect last?
The effect of treatment with this acid usually lasts, depending on which product is used, 4 to 12 months. After that it can be repeated.
