1. What makes Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™ different from traditional breast augmentation?
Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™ belong to the latest generation of breast augmentation techniques, offering a faster recovery and a more natural-looking result. Instead of using a scalpel, minimally invasive instruments are used.
Both techniques offer important differences and advantages compared with a traditional breast augmentation:
- Minimally invasive surgical techniques
- No general anaesthesia
- Shorter operating time
- Faster and less painful recovery
- Maximum preservation of natural breast tissue, muscles and supporting ligaments
Because of these advantages, Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™ are sometimes compared with the introduction of keyhole surgery in other surgical disciplines: an evolution towards procedures that place as little strain on the body as possible and allow for a much faster recovery.
2. What is the difference between Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™?
Although Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™ share several advantages over traditional breast augmentation, there are also clear differences between the two techniques.
They differ in terms of the location of the scar, the possible increase in volume, the type of implant, whether a breast lift can be performed at the same time, the type of anaesthesia and the price.
The 6 main differences between Mia Femtech™ and Preservé™
1. Location of the scar
- Mia Femtech™: through a small incision in the armpit → no visible scar on the breast.
- Preservé™: through a discreet incision of approximately 2.5–3 cm in the inframammary fold → no visible scar on the breast, as the minimal scar is hidden underneath the breast.
2. Possible increase in volume:
- Mia Femtech™: ideal for a subtle breast enhancement or “breast harmonisation”, limited to an increase of approximately 1 to 2 cup sizes.
- Preservé™: offers a wider choice of implant sizes and volumes, while the focus remains on natural-looking proportions.
3. Diamond breast implant
Both techniques use innovative instruments and the latest generation of breast implants.
- With Preservé™, the implant used is the Motiva Ergonomix2 Joy.
- With Mia Femtech™, the exclusive Motiva Ergonomix2 Diamond® implant is used.
4. Can it be combined with a breast lift?
- Mia Femtech™ is designed for subtle breast harmonisation and cannot be combined with a breast lift.

5. Anaesthesia
Both techniques are performed without heavy general anaesthesia.
- With Preservé™, comfort sedation is administered by our anaesthetist.
- Mia Femtech™ is performed under local anaesthesia. At Global Care Clinic, comfort sedation can also be added if desired, at no additional cost. Together, we determine which option is most comfortable for you.

4. Which breast augmentation is right for you?
Choose Preservé™ or Mia Femtech™ instead of a traditional breast augmentation if you…
- are concerned about pain: with both Preservé™ and Mia Femtech™, muscles, nerves and blood vessels are spared as much as possible. This makes these techniques considerably less invasive and patients generally experience significantly less pain.
- are concerned about scarring: Preservé™ creates the smallest possible scar, approximately 2.5 cm, hidden in the breast fold. With Mia Femtech™, the implant is inserted through the armpit, meaning there is no scar on the breast.
- are worried about loss of sensation: with these breast-sparing techniques, natural sensation in the breasts and nipples is preserved as much as possible, as is the possibility of breastfeeding in the future.
- consider a natural result important: both Preservé™ and Mia Femtech™ have been developed to create breasts that look natural and, importantly, feel natural.
- are anxious about surgery or general anaesthesia: both techniques can be performed without heavy general anaesthesia. Mia Femtech™ can even be performed under local anaesthesia.
- do not want a long recovery: recovery after Preservé™ and Mia Femtech™ is considerably shorter than after traditional breast augmentation. Most patients can often resume their daily activities immediately or certainly within a few days, significantly reducing the practical impact on work, family life and childcare arrangements.
Choose Mia Femtech™ if you…
want a very natural, subtle increase in breast volume, without a scar underneath the breast, do not need a breast lift and would like the procedure to be performed under local anaesthesia.
