About:
Alizée Poulicek, Miss Belgium 2008, shares her positive experience with Medical Needling at Global Care Clinic in the latest edition of Puissance.
Alizée was very satisfied with her innovative skin-reinforcing treatment, performed by Plastic Surgeon Dr. Marc Nelissen.
What is Medical Needling?
Medical Needling stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin by creating thousands of tiny micro-injuries (1 to 2.5 mm deep) in the skin using the Dermapen. This treatment activates the skin’s natural healing process, resulting in an internal wrinkle-filling effect.
It promotes improved skin texture, a fresher complexion, and reduces fine lines, acne scars, stretch marks, and burns.
How long does a Medical Needling treatment take?
A Medical Needling session takes about half an hour, with a total stay of approximately two hours at our clinic. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to make the procedure completely painless. After the treatment, extra vitamins are infused into the skin, followed by a LED session.
How soon can I resume normal activities?
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear red and swollen, similar to a sunburn. Makeup can be applied to cover this, allowing normal activities to resume right away. Redness and swelling usually disappear within 1 to 2 days.
How many treatments are needed?
Optimal results are achieved with multiple sessions, spaced a few weeks apart.
Alizée Poulicek’s Experience
“It was the first time I had an intensive beauty treatment on my face, but it was a great experience. I was warmly welcomed at Global Care Clinic. The needling didn’t hurt. My skin feels soft and fresh. Because they first opened the pores with tiny needles, the moisturizing cream penetrated deeply into my skin. Right after the treatment, my skin looked red, but it quickly faded. I definitely recommend it to everyone. The medical needling, which goes up to 2.5 mm deep, should only be performed by a doctor. It’s usually done in three to six sessions, with a few weeks between each. There’s also a 0.25 mm home roller (ten times less deep) that you can use at home to gently remove dead skin cells.”
