What is the difference between a filler and a muscle-relaxing anti-wrinkle injection?

Similarities between Fillers and Muscle Relaxing Injections

Let’s start with what they have in common:

  • Both are ‘injectables‘, meaning something is injected.
  • Both treatments focus on reducing wrinkles as part of anti-aging.

What’s the difference?

The difference is:

  • A filler is used to add volume, for example, in the nasolabial fold, drooping mouth corners, lips, or the nose.
  • A muscle relaxant, on the other hand, doesn’t fill anything but temporarily weakens certain muscles responsible for specific wrinkles, such as frown lines between the eyes or crow’s feet around the eyes.
