Will my surgery be reimbursed by my health insurance?
Most treatments (aesthetic) are not reimbursed by the Belgian health insurance. It’s best to check with your health insurance provider in advance.
Is Dr. Nelissen accredited - conventioned?
Dr. Nelissen is an accredited doctor. Accreditation is a quality label that doctors in Belgium can obtain from the government (Federal Public Service of Health). It indicates that a physician engages in continuous education and is committed to maintaining a high-quality and professional medical practice. In this context, Dr. Nelissen has served since 2023 as the chairman of the Local Quality Group (LOK) Limburg, where plastic surgeons from Limburg meet at least four times a year for consultation and continued training.
Dr. Nelissen is not conventioned. Conventioning means that a doctor agrees to the national agreement between physicians and health insurance funds and must adhere to officially fixed tariffs. As a non-conventioned physician, Dr. Nelissen sets his own fees, as the official convention rates do not reflect the high standards and facilities of a non-subsidised private clinic.
However, your price will always be clearly communicated in advance. Immediately after your consultation, you will receive a detailed and non-binding price quote, so you know exactly what to expect.
