Dr. Marc Nelissen is a Doctor in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (a protected professional title for plastic surgeons), with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery.
Dr. Nelissen is officially registered as a plastic surgeon:

- Netherlands registered with the Medical Specialists Registration Committee (KNMG Artsennet).
Dr. Nelissen is an accredited doctor. Accreditation is a quality label that doctors can obtain from the Belgian government (Federal Public Service of Health). It demonstrates that a physician engages in continuous education and is committed to delivering high-quality and professional medical care. In this context, Dr. Nelissen has been serving since 2023 as chairman of the Local Quality Group (LOK) Limburg, where plastic surgeons from the Limburg region meet at least four times a year for discussion and further training.
Private clinic Global Care Clinic
- Dr. Nelissen is the founder and owner of the private clinic Global Care Clinic. Since 2004, he has been leading this private clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery. It has since grown into a well-known beauty clinic offering a complete range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments.
- Since 2011, the clinic has been located in Zolder (near Hasselt) under the name Global Care Clinic. Prior to that, from 2004, the clinic was based at Quartier Bleu in Hasselt.
- In 2017, a new branch was opened in Knokke (on the Belgian coast, near the Dutch border), where well-known patients can visit by appointment for post-operative check-ups and specific anti-aging treatments.

Dr. Nelissen has been the Chairman of the Provincial LOK Professional Association of Limburg plastic surgeons since 2022.
As a member of the Scientific Committee of Clinical Facial Anatomy (CFA) Amsterdam, Dr. Nelissen annually conducts and participates in training sessions on anti-wrinkle injections (fillers and muscle relaxants) for doctors from around the world.

2006-2017: Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at the public hospital Maas en Kempen (ZMK), Belgium, with two campuses in Bree and Maaseik.
2001-2004: Staff member of the Plastic Surgery Department at the University Hospital azMaastricht, Netherlands (azM – UMC+), focusing on reconstructive and reimbursed care.
2001-2004: Simultaneously performed aesthetic surgical procedures at the following private clinics in Amsterdam: Kliniek de Lairesse (part of Medinova/Euroclinics); Jan van Goyen Hospital (via Body Services), Total Care Clinics.
Until 2006, he also worked at the Valkenhorst Clinic in Valkenburg, and until 2007, at the Reinaert Clinic in Maastricht and Amstenrade.
Education - Diplomas
1994: Degree in “Doctor of Medicine, Surgery, and Gynaecology” – with Distinction – from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Belgium.
1994-1997: Preliminary specialization training in General Surgery – at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
1997-1998: Internship with Plastic Surgeon Dr. J. Vandeput, internationally renowned for inventing the Tanner-Vandeput mesh dermatome for burn treatment. During this additional year, Dr. Nelissen performed numerous aesthetic procedures, including 250 breast augmentations.
1998-2001: Specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery – at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, in the Academic Medical Center (AMC), including: 10 months at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital / Netherlands Cancer Institute: reconstructive surgery and microsurgery, with a focus on breast and head/neck reconstructions; 6 months at the Beverwijk Burn Center: reconstructive surgery after burns, general plastic surgery, and aesthetic surgery; 20 months at AMC: (pediatric) plastic surgery and hand surgery.
