Ultrasonic nose sculpture

Plastic surgeon Dr. Nelissen applies the ultrasonic nose sculpture technique. This is an improved procedure to correct the nose with the Piezo device. This device is an improvement on the conventional instruments such as rasp, hammer, ... It's a bit like an electronic toothbrush. The technique of the Piezo-surgery is known for more than 40 years in other medical fields such as oral surgery. This technique was further developed for nose jobs by Paris plastic surgeon Dr Gerbault. The accuracy and precision of this device allows the plastic surgeon to have a much better control during the procedure.
The benefits of the ultrasonic rhinoplasty are:
- Better visual control during surgery, because the full nasal pyramid is visible.
- Better control over the position of the fracture and prevention of unnecessary ruptures.
- The bone is carved and sculpted easier than with conventional instruments.
- It can also be applied to thin bone structure (some women) or for brittle bones (from 40-45 year)
- Asymmetry of the nose can easily be corrected.
- Finally, patients are less marked after surgery, have much less bruising, and can so also much faster return to their normal social activities.
