2. Safety
“hospital level safety in a private clinic”
At Global Care Clinic, safety comes first. We have invested heavily in advanced ventilation systems and equipment to provide our patients with the best possible care in an extremely safe environment.
All surgeries, including procedures under local anaesthesia with sedation, are performed in our state-of-the-art operating theatre. This theatre includes two fully equipped operating rooms and a spacious, comfortable recovery room.
As the only private clinic in Limburg – and one of the few in Belgium – we comply with the strictest safety standards for private clinics (S3 standard), as imposed by the Belgian Society for Private Clinics and inspected by the international certification organisation HEX GROUP.
… but what exactly does that mean for you as a patient?
1. Optimal air purification and sterility
Our advanced laminar airflow ventilation system ensures an ultra-sterile surgical environment. This system:
✅ Replaces the entire air volume in the operating room every minute with sterile air.
✅ Creates a slight overpressure, preventing bacteria from entering.

Our air quality meets the ISO 1446-1 Class 5 standard, the same strict standard used in the operating rooms of Gasthuisberg (University Hospital Leuven).
🔹 Why is this important?
A sterile environment significantly reduces the risk of:
- Wound infections and hospital-acquired bacteria (such as MRSA).
- Capsular contracture in breast augmentation procedures.
Thanks to these measures, the risk of infection is even lower than in a public hospital, where primarily sick patients are treated.
2. Advanced electrical safety

The S3 standard includes comprehensive electrical safety regulations.
In Belgium, only a few private clinics meet these standards – and we are one of them.
Are you undergoing general anesthesia? Then an S3-compliant operating environment is a must for your safety.
3. Emergency power supply
🔹 What happens if the power goes out during your surgery?
During an operation, vital equipment and systems such as:
- Operating room doors
- Surgical lighting
- Patient elevators
- Monitoring devices
… rely entirely on electricity.
Without an emergency power supply, these systems could fail in the event of a power outage, posing serious risks. We have a high-capacity emergency generator that ensures our operating suite remains fully powered for at least 24 hours in the event of a power outage.

Our emergency power system includes a battery backup, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply while the generator starts up. This means you won’t even notice if a power outage occurs.

BSPC quality label (Belgian Society for Private Clinics)
Global Care Clinic is the only private clinic in Limburg that has obtained the quality label of the “Belgian Society for Private Clinics”.
This association strives for a high standard of healthcare and medicine within private clinics and sets strict criteria regarding quality and infrastructure to ensure patient safety.
HEX certification
Global Care Clinic has a fully certified operating room that has been inspected by HEX Group according to the strictest quality standards.
ISAPS accreditation (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery)
Global Care Clinic is one of the few ISAPS accredited private clinics in Belgium. The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) is the globally recognized organization for aesthetic plastic surgery. Plastic Surgeon Dr. Nelissen has been an active ISAPS member for many years.

Short waiting times
- The waiting time for an initial consultation is typically around 2 weeks.
- Since we own our own surgical facilities, most procedures can take place within 2 to 6 weeks after the consultation. In Belgium, a legal waiting period of 15 days applies between consultation and surgery.
Easily accessible with free parking
Global Care Clinic Zolder (next to Hasselt and Genk) is located:
- next to the famous Circuit of Zolder and Velodrome Limburg
- in the border region “Belgium – Germany – Netherlands”
- near highways E314 (Leuven-Heerlen-Aachen) and E313 (Antwerp-Liège)
Less than one hour’s drive from Brussels, Antwerp, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Maastricht, Global Care Clinic looks forward to welcoming you as our patient.
Parking: Upon arrival by car, you don’t have to search or pay for parking. There is always plenty of free parking available on the premises.
In addition, existing patients can also visit the branch in Knokke (on the Belgian coast, near the Dutch border) for follow-up appointments and certain anti-aging treatments.
Privacy and discretion
Discretion for postoperative patients and VIP patients is ensured by:
- a separate entrance and exit on the side of the building, so the patient does not have to pass through the main waiting area.
- the clinic’s location in a wooded, residential neighborhood with complete privacy and a fully separate private parking area.
