BREAST AUGMENTATION

I had called the GCC and was helped very politely and kindly over the phone. We made an appointment, and a little over a month later, I was able to go in for my first consultation. In the meantime, of course, I waited with great anticipation and had already done a lot of research, so I was actually already quite well-informed.

Consultation

Then the day of my first consultation arrived, and I was super excited – especially because I had already read all the positive experiences below. But still, you never know, right…?
I walked in and was immediately welcomed very kindly and asked to take a seat in the waiting room. A little while later, it was my turn. I received my consultation from Jade – what an incredibly sweet woman!! Someone to truly look up to, so unbelievably kind and warm! I really love that; it immediately gives me a good and familiar feeling. The explanation was mainly about the implants and what I specifically wanted. I also got to try on different types of implants under a top to see what would suit me best. Clear and thorough explanations, and if you have any questions, you can always ask them. Absolutely great.

After that, I was allowed to take a seat in the waiting room for a little while, and then Dr. Nelissen would call me in again. About half an hour later, he called us (my boyfriend and me) in, and once again, we received a very clear explanation. And the doctor – what a great man! Very friendly, highly professional, and yet very compassionate – just amazing. You can really see that he is someone with a passion and a lot of knowledge. I immediately had a good feeling and scheduled my surgery right away. He took a quick look at his calendar, and I only had to wait for a little less than a month – then it was already my turn. Phew, I counted down the days with excitement, but it was a healthy kind of nervousness. A week before the surgery, I was supposed to receive an email with the exact time I had to arrive for my operation.

Surgery day

So, the day of the surgery arrived, and I was allowed to go in at 7:45 AM. I was welcomed by Valerie. As I had become accustomed to by then, she was super kind and very reassuring. Together with my mom (who dropped me off and would come back to pick me up), I received a brief explanation regarding the aftercare. We were also given some papers, including the detailed instructions and a proof of payment. I personally think it’s nice to have that, because it’s obviously not very cheap, and it gives you a kind of reassurance, so to speak.

Once we had received the explanation and my mom had left, Valerie took me downstairs. That’s where the operating room is. Once downstairs, I was allowed to change and put on a kind of jacket, so to speak. I had to wait for a moment in the chair, and then they came to get me. After about ten minutes, the nurse (with the colorful shoes, I don’t know her name) came to get me and escorted me to a bed where I was to lie down. I didn’t see her for long then, but later again in the operating room, and she was super sweet and a very cheerful person. Once I was lying on the bed, Jade came by, and it was so nice to see her again. She also gave me the injection for the antibiotic IV. She reassured me again and said everything was going to be fine and they would take good care of me. Such a sweetheart!! And then, after about ten minutes of waiting, the doctor came to get me. He was very enthusiastic and took me under his arm, leading me to the operating room. There, the last check-ups took place, and then it was time. I got my anesthesia, or “aperitif” as Jade called it, and then I peacefully fell asleep around 8:30. By 9:30, I was already awake again, and full of excitement, I immediately looked at my breasts, and omg, I cried like a little child.

After surgery – pain

I was so happy, I finally had beautiful, natural breasts. When I woke up, I was already wearing the clinic’s bra, and it fit very comfortably. They came to check on me, asked if everything was going well, and I was allowed to quietly drink a glass of water first. And everything went very smoothly; I felt very awake and actually, strangely, very good, considering I had just woken up from anesthesia. Since everything went so well, they also allowed me to go home. They helped me get dressed and accompanied me to the car. I also had no pain or strange feelings at all.

When I got home, I could feel that my body still needed some rest. It’s also normal, of course, after just having surgery. So I calmly put on my pajamas and took a nap of about 3 hours in my bed. It did me a lot of good. I woke up, had something to eat, and took my first painkiller. Although I actually still had no pain.

By the evening, as I had read, I got a phone call from Valerie. She was, as usual, super friendly and sweet. She asked how I was doing, answered the few questions I still had, reassured me, and said that if anything were to happen, Dr. Nelissen was available day and night. A comforting feeling! Then, in the following days, I didn’t really experience any pain at all, quite the opposite. Occasionally, I felt a kind of muscle soreness when I made certain movements, as if I had worked out a lot. But other than that, no pain at all, so here I am, a super happy girl!! Then, less than a week later, I was able to go for a check-up today, the bandages from the wounds (under the breast fold) were removed and properly disinfected. Then there was an extra check-up by the doctor who explained again that everything was going very well and that the breasts would gradually settle nicely over time, as they are still quite firm at the moment.

I went from an A cup to a small D cup, adding 230 cc. In the meantime, I already have an appointment for my second check-up and truly, anyone who is still doubting… feel free to get in touch with the GCC. They are open to all questions and honestly, each and every one of them is such a kind person. And I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart!
